I loved the insight of a first time marthoner who is freaking awesome. Then your the ol' pro in my mind. Oh Caddy it is so awesome to see that first time and your times now. You should just wear a tee with those times printed on them! So, proud of you! You carry all the possibility that I can inspire to become one day :-)Vivhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01275505112098052230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22042324.post-54554077537984986542008-11-05T14:31:00.000-06:002008-11-05T14:31:00.000-06:00Carrie, your marathon-haze is an inspiration! Congrats on making your goal! You are amazing and a great role model. Congrats to Shawn for a great first marathon and an equally inspiring race report. Good luck to you both training for Ironman CDA!!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03432410197109414002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22042324.post-64677828310401603492008-11-02T05:39:00.000-06:002008-11-02T05:39:00.000-06:00Congrats!! So often, I think that fast runners lilt along and they aren't pushing themselves or feeling the same level of pain as I am. It makes me feel like I'm doing something right and to keep pushing. thanks.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01292678542833662248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22042324.post-57228774736341330362008-10-31T09:23:00.000-05:002008-10-31T09:23:00.000-05:00I am so glad you did not punch the guy who said "f...I am so glad you did not punch the guy who said "finish strong" it could have been ugly.

as shawn wrote...it was a goose bump fest, wasn't it???

congrats to shawn...way to negative split the sucker..

carrie...what can i say...you just keep on rocking..... great report and pictures...triguyjthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05843158282600595243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22042324.post-14822538917682836892008-10-30T10:44:00.000-05:002008-10-30T10:44:00.000-05:00i'm so glad i waited until I had time to read ...i'm so glad i waited until I had time to read this fully. The MCM course dumps you out in the middle of nowhere or makes you do a senseless out and back or makes you climb over a bridge at the worst possible moments. You have to be mentally strong, and you obviously are.greyhoundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01177698669715595307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22042324.post-14753649923615547922008-10-30T07:57:00.000-05:002008-10-30T07:57:00.000-05:00goosebumps seem to be the theme of the day. i got...goosebumps seem to be the theme of the day. i got them ready both of your stories. more yours though shawn. way to see the sights and enjoy the race and do so well.

go carrie!!!!! very proud of you. jAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22042324.post-7575403849076417212008-10-30T07:38:00.000-05:002008-10-30T07:38:00.000-05:00Awwwww, duel reports. Certainly very different perspectives on the same race. The two times I ran MCM were also quite different. Never had anyone push me on the back, though.

I laughed about you missing some things along the course, like the Pentagon. I don't think I missed much when I ran my PR because it was a small race, mostly out and back along a bike path. Maybe a bird or two.

Great race report and love all the smiles in the photos!ShirleyPerlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09237828591170908960noreply@blogger.com
